Gain the Mental Edge to Lead
“What’s Stopping You From Bringing Your Great Ideas to Fruition?”

Have you ever given thought as to why some people in leadership roles are hugely successful while others seem to be distracted?

Do you wonder why the most complex project can come together successfully for some entrepreneurs, while others wind up spinning their wheels?

What stops some people from bringing great ideas to fruition when on the surface they have the potential and the ability to reach high levels of success?

Simply stated, those who readily reach high levels of success do so because they are LOHAS leaders, a new breed of leadership that embraces an innovative way of thinking. For those who are unfamiliar with the term LOHAS, it is an acronym for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability, a segment of leaders who are focused on health, fitness, the environment, personal development, sustainable living and social justice. LOHAS individuals are visionary people that stay ahead of the “information overload syndrome” and remain focused and aware of the tasks at hand.

Overcoming Distraction and Procrastination

In today’s high tech busy world, all too often leaders are bombarded with distractions, overwhelmed with high technology, including e-mail messages, cell phone calls, blackberries, web sites and more. Over-stimulated and underachieved, these leaders have not learned how to overcome distraction or procrastination. And while Master’s have tried to teach leaders how to overcome these distractions, they are often left with a missing piece that ties it all together. In contrast, the new breed of LOHAS leader is focused. Recognizing that they are responsible for their relationships and actions, whether in the work environment or to their families, conscious LOHAS leaders are aware of their own personal impact on the world.

Strong Focus and Mindfulness

Is it possible that only a few individuals develop their competencies in a way that makes a difference? Are only some destined for greatness? In my many years of working with countless entrepreneurs and corporate executives, I say a resounding NO to that type of thinking! I say that without hesitation because I have been witness to the growth and success of many leaders who are now part of the LOHAS community. What I have discovered is that we all have the capability to use our thinking and our ideas to develop and bring to fruition our competencies and our products. The big difference is that those who are LOHAS leaders are fully focused, whereas others who have difficulty reaching this level of leadership constantly fill their minds with more information. What’s absent for the many talented people that are not reaching higher is that they allow many distractions to keep them from leading dynamically.
